Salesforce Inc. officially launched Headless 360 on April 16, 2026, a new platform architecture designed to transition enterprise operations toward agent-first workflows. The release marks a strategic shift for the San Francisco-based software giant, as it packages its suite of developer tools and artificial intelligence capabilities into a unified environment where software agents can execute complex tasks by directly invoking application programming interfaces (APIs) rather than relying on traditional user interfaces.

At the core of the Headless 360 offering is Agentforce Vibes, a specialized coding environment tailored for the development and deployment of autonomous agents. This environment provides developers with the necessary frameworks to build agents that can navigate enterprise data silos, perform multi-step reasoning, and trigger actions across third-party applications. According to the company’s technical documentation, Headless 360 utilizes a headless architecture, meaning the logic and execution layers are decoupled from the presentation layer, allowing agents to operate at scale without the latency or constraints of a graphical interface.

Salesforce President and Chief Product Officer David Schmaier stated during the launch event that the platform is intended to address the growing demand for agentic automation in large-scale enterprises. Schmaier noted that while traditional robotic process automation mimics human clicks, Headless 360 enables agents to interact with the underlying data structures of the Salesforce Customer 360 ecosystem. This allows for more resilient workflows that do not break when a user interface is updated.

The platform includes several key components: the Agentforce Orchestrator, which manages the lifecycle and permissions of deployed agents; a revamped Data Cloud integration for real-time context; and a library of pre-built API connectors. Salesforce confirmed that Headless 360 is built on the company’s Hyperforce infrastructure, ensuring that data residency and security protocols are maintained across global regions.

Initial enterprise partners, including global logistics and financial services firms, have reportedly begun piloting the technology to automate supply chain adjustments and customer service resolutions. Salesforce has not disclosed specific pricing tiers for Headless 360 but indicated that it will be available as an add-on for existing Data Cloud and Service Cloud enterprise customers. The company also announced that it would provide specialized training modules through its Trailhead platform to certify developers in Agentic Engineering using the new Headless 360 toolset.

This launch follows Salesforce’s recent efforts to consolidate its AI research and development under the Agentforce brand. By providing a dedicated environment for API-driven agents, the company aims to reduce the time-to-value for businesses seeking to implement autonomous systems that can handle high-volume, repetitive tasks with minimal human intervention.
