Amazon One Medical officially launched its comprehensive GLP-1 Management Program on April 22, 2026, marking a significant expansion of the company’s healthcare services into the weight management sector. The initiative integrates primary care, pharmacy services, and virtual care to treat obesity as a chronic condition rather than a series of isolated treatments. By combining clinical oversight with direct medication access, Amazon aims to address the fragmented care often experienced by patients seeking weight-loss therapies. The program is now available at One Medical locations across the United States.
Central to the program is a transparent pricing structure for GLP-1 medications fulfilled through Amazon Pharmacy. For the newly FDA-approved oral medications, including Wegovy and Eli Lilly’s Foundayo, patients with commercial insurance may pay as little as $25 per month. For those paying out-of-pocket, cash prices for these oral options start at $149 per month. Injectable medications, such as Wegovy, the Zepbound auto-injector, and the multi-dose Zepbound KwikPen, are available for cash-paying customers starting at $299 per month. These figures represent a standardized pricing model intended to provide clarity before patients begin treatment.
The clinical model emphasizes ongoing medical supervision rather than simple prescription fulfillment. Enrolled patients undergo pre-visit screenings and structured consultations with One Medical primary care providers. These clinicians are tasked with monitoring how weight loss impacts a patient’s overall health, including adjusting medications for related conditions such as hypertension and type 2 diabetes. For individuals who already possess a GLP-1 prescription but are not One Medical members, Amazon is offering on-demand, 24/7 telehealth renewals. These services are priced at $29 for message-based consultations and $49 for video visits.
Logistics and delivery are handled through Amazon Pharmacy’s expanding infrastructure. The company currently provides same-day delivery for these medications to nearly 3,000 cities and towns, with plans to reach 4,500 locations by the end of 2026. Additionally, Amazon has deployed specialized One Medical kiosks in select California locations to facilitate immediate medication access. Tanvi Patel, vice president and general manager of Amazon Pharmacy, stated that providing fast, convenient access with transparent pricing is fundamental to the company’s strategy to transform the pharmacy experience.
The launch comes as obesity continues to affect more than 40% of the U.S. adult population, contributing to an estimated $173 billion in annual medical costs. Amazon’s integrated approach seeks to differentiate itself from standalone telehealth weight-loss platforms by embedding treatment within a broader primary care relationship. This allows for evidence-based treatment algorithms and built-in safety protocols. The program also utilizes standardized documentation to ensure that weight management remains a core component of the patient’s long-term health record.
